Starts with Listening to you
Understanding your concerns and your plans for your home helps us to tailor the audit to your individual needs.
Includes a Full visual inspection
We gather the data needed to develop energy improvement recommendations that address
- Health and safety issues;
- Building envelope: walls, windows, doors, connections to the attic & basement;
- Insulation and exposure;
- Mechanical systems: heating, cooling, ventilation, ductwork, water heater;
- Opportunities for solar and geothermal installations.
Plus Diagnostic testing
We use advanced building diagnostic tools to accurately identify your home’s energy leaks, so you learn where to focus improvement dollars. Diagnostic tests include
- Blower Door Infiltration Test to quantify and locate air leakage;
- Infrared Camera Inspection to identify insulation, moisture and thermal issues;
- Gas Leak and Combustion Safety Evaluation for all combustion appliances to ensure the health and safety of your family.
The Audit is the 1st Step
Once we have accurately diagnosed your home's energy issues, we then
- Send you an Energy Efficiency Report identifying all the major energy and comfort issues in your home. Written in layman’s terms, it provides a step-by-step prioritized plan detailing the most cost-effective improvement projects;
- Provide Home Performance Contracting so that you can properly complete your recommended energy improvements to obtain the best results;
- Provide incentive and financing assistance to help you identify and file with all applicable programs;
- Upon completion of your energy improvements, we perform the required follow-up testing to ensure that the work was performed safely and completely. Since not all homes need the same follow-up testing, additional fees apply.
